  • Latin name:       Reinhardtius hippoglossoides.
  • Taste/ texture:  White, delicate flesh.
  • Origin:                 FAO 27, Norwegian coast, waters around Newfoundland, Faroe and Greenland.
  • Size/ weight:      Average: 60 cm - 70 cm / 2.5 kg - 4 kg.

                                         Maximum: 1.10 m - 1.35 m / 18 kg - 35 kg.

  • Speciality:           Halibut is the biggest species of flatfish.
